About the role

As a Mechanical Technician at Qinu, you will work in the field of metal working and machining. Your main tasks will include the production, assembly, installation and service of different parts and assemblies of our vacuum and cryogenic systems.  Besides a sustainable job opportunity, you will have the chance to gain an advanced knowledge of cryogenic physics and engineering. In addition, you can become a part of Qinu’s core team – with broad career development opportunity and long-term job prospect.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Completed vocational training or several years of professional experience in a precision engineering profession; ideally as a precision mechanic, technician, watchmaker, or goldsmith
  • Mechanical handicraft skills such as metal processing, machining processes (especially turning, drilling, milling), welding, assembling of vacuum and low-voltage components, hard- and soft soldering are beneficial but not essential
  • Basic knowledge of CAD programs and design engineering
  • Good knowledge in written and spoken German or English
  • Be able to work independently as well as a part of a team
  • Good work ethics and a motivated attitude

About the role

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Successfully completed degree (PhD, Dipl.-Ing. (FH/BA), M.Sc. or B.Sc.) in one of the following fields: mechanical, mechatronics, aerospace, automotive or process engineering; material science or physics
  • Advanced experience in CAD programs and design engineering
  • Mechanical handicraft skills such as metal processing, assembling of vacuum and low-voltage components, as well as hard- and soft soldering are beneficial but not essential
  • Computer literacy and good written and spoken German or English
  • High degree of self-motivation and work ethics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
